I'm experiencing the same bug. I've got a Belkin F8T009, on 8.04 (32bit) on Gnome.

lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 008: ID 0a5c:200a Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth dongle

The icon is displayed to start with, but then disappears when I try to do anything with it.
