My bluetooth also malfunctions. I managed to get it to pair with my phone once after emptying /var/lib/bluetooth/ however it wont do it again.

I'm not so sure mine is a kernel/driver problem as the phone does see the pc and my pc also sees the phone however i cannot pair or use file transfer/modem or HID capabilities.
