Bug Description
The ACER aspire one includes a Atheros AR242x based wifi chipset, and works on Intrepid ibix using the ath5k wifi driver, there does not seem to currently be a way to enable softled operation with this driver, softled causes the led next to the kill switch to flash on traffic and associate activity.
I believe this can be made to work on the madwifi driver using a sysctrl, but this driver is marked as tainted, and i believe it is being depreciated.
Intrepid Ibix beta 8.10 with all latest updates.

In the meantime, it can be tweaked manually as asplained here under wireless LED:
https:/ /help.ubuntu. com/community/ AspireOne# Step%203: %20Tweak% 20/%20Fix
but yes, I fear this is fro madwifi. I've entered a similar bug fro my Aspire 5520, see
