2008-06-02 19:28:19 Felix Krull description After upgrading from Gutsy to Hardy, reading DVD isn't possible anymore. Writing using K3B (1.0.4/KDE 3.5.9) is OK. Tried new installation: Hardy-Installation-CD (Desktop and Alternate CD) boots into busybox without error-message. Edgy and Gutsy are without any problems. Tried different BIOS-Settings without success. Maybe this is a similar error to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/213639. There's no difference between kernels 2.26.24-16 and 2.26.24-17. dmesg after inserting Video-DVD in running Hardy (dmesg-messages after interrupted installation are similar): [ 304.756850] sr 2:0:0:0: [sr2] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE,SUGGEST_OK [ 304.756862] sr 2:0:0:0: [sr2] Sense Key : Hardware Error [current] [ 304.756867] sr 2:0:0:0: [sr2] Add.
