Comment 4 for bug 231864

Was just about to file a bug on this. The behaviour this bug is producing is incredibly annoying for me. I do a lot of upper and lower case renaming on my FAT32 drive (while sorting music) and I often have to "2-step rename" my files and folders with an intermediate, temporary name, so this bug is kind of crucial to me in a way; I'd love to see this fixed. :-)
