Since I installed the amd64 version of Hardy I've had a problem with characters messing up various applications. This happens to be a problem in almost every application I use. Firefox, Epiphany, gajim, Xchat, gedit, quod libet etc. I'm not entirely sure which characters triggers the bug. At least it is occurring when the Japanese kanji "sekken" is written on screen. Reading Japanese pages on the internet have become somewhat difficult because of this. One friend of mine is also experiencing this bug.

Seems like this is only a problem in the amd64 version of Hardy. Another friend of mine, that is running the i386 version of Hardy, does not seem to have this problem.

I attached a screenshot of the bug in action.
