Pushing to the ppa:

nvml (1.3.1-0ubuntu1~ppa8) bionic; urgency=medium

  * Drop the manpage lintian override and fix the problem instead.
  * Create new -debug packages for the *_dbg/ libraries, document it
    in README.source and drop the ldconfig lintian override.
  * Patch the devel manpages explaining that the extra debug libraries
    are in the -debug packages.

There was no consideration done for the upgrade from previous versions of these packages, you may have to remove and reinstall if you get conflicts or stray files.
