The ndctl package is working for me, I verified listing namespaces and converting namespaces between a few different modes.
The only cosmetic issue is that the version does not match the package version. By default git-version tries to do the right thing based on the tag, but if you're building without the git tree it may fall back to the default defined version.
E.g.:
$ dpkg-query -l ndctl
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Inst/Conf-files/Unpacked/halF-conf/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend
