same problem.

[11610.139875] hdaps: IBM ThinkPad Z60m detected.
[11610.139964] hdaps: initial latch check good (0x01).
[11611.755687] hdaps: device successfully initialized.
[11611.756180] input: hdaps as /devices/platform/hdaps/input/input26
[11611.783323] hdaps: driver successfully loaded.

note that the hdaps-utils work correctly. only hdapsd appears to suffer from this issue.
