Cinelerra is the only full-featured non-linear video editor available for Linux. It is released under the GPL, which means it wouldn't be an ethical problem to have it in the official repository.
Please, at least get the current Ubuntu packages in the official repositories. This is quality Free software and it would be beneficial to have it available.
