A small update to my previous comment: though it is still on the pages for computers with Windows, I note that "Dell recommends Windows Vista™ Home Premium." has been stricken from the 'Coming Soon' page (which I also note redirects from http://www.dell.com/ubuntu :)

Also of note regarding the Dell systems, they WILL be cheaper than equivalent Windows systems (as stated by a Dell spokesman; see http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/business/314124_dellfolo03.html) Buy Ubuntu systems and save the Microsoft tax! ;)
