I was going to post something about this but I'm glad someone explained it nicely and with easy words.
The lock screen circle is useless. There is no other way to define it. It's probably the biggest screw up in Ubuntu Touch UX.
This circle is screaming to get a clock in it, and to get notifications in it, and call information and actions, instead of useless info on how social or not social you have been on a day.
It could have been SO nice, so useful, if just common sense had been applied to its design. I can't imagine how it somehow ended up being the utter failure it is.
