Let me sum up what I can take away from this...
* this modal behaviour is meant to apply to snap-decisions only, but not ephemeral or interactive notifications
* timeouts are meant to be left untouched
* a fullscreen black backdrop beneath the notification with 50% opacity consuming all input
* only to apply to the phone
