2015-09-28 11:48:06 Rohan "HEXcube" Villoth summary Suggestion: Include 'Enable Hibernate' and 'Global Menu Disable' Suggestion: Include a setting to 'Enable Hibernate'
2015-09-28 11:51:16 Rohan "HEXcube" Villoth description I'd like to request 'Enable Hibernate' and 'Global Menu Disable' features to be added to Ubuntu Tweak on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin and above. Since 𝐔𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐮 𝟏𝟐.𝟎𝟒𝐋𝐓𝐒 "Precise Pangolin", hibernate is disabled by default. This was done coz most hardware lack proper support for hibernate/support under Ubuntu. See https://help.ubuntu.com/14.04/ubuntu-help/power-suspendfail.html . However, many users have machines where hibernate works and so wishes to enable it. But, there's no simple graphical method for re-enabling hibernate. Experienced users can follow this for 𝐔𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐮 𝟏𝟒.𝟎𝟒𝐋𝐓𝐒 and up: https://help.ubuntu.com/14.04/ubuntu-help/power-hibernate.html and for 𝐔𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐮 𝟏𝟐.𝟎𝟒𝐋𝐓𝐒: https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/ubuntu-help/power-hibernate.html I request 𝐔𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐮 𝐓𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐤 include an option to enable Hibernate, so that normal users may easily access Suspend and Hibernate options from the system indicator menu on Unity panel Originally this bug report had a request for including an option to disable Unity's Global Menu too. However, Unity 7 on 𝐔𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐮 𝟏𝟒.𝟎𝟒𝐋𝐓𝐒 "Trusty Tahr" introduced an option to choose between global menu and LIM. See http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2014/02/locally-integrated-menus-ubuntu-14-04 So, I dropped the "Add option to disable Global Menu" part of this bug report ☺

I believe this is similar to the feature request to add/remove options to sessions menu (bug #960612), but I couldn't find such a setting in the current version v8.8 of 𝐔𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐮 𝐓𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐤 on 𝐔𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐮 𝟏𝟒.𝟎𝟒𝐋𝐓𝐒.
