Bug Description

The German translation labels for Minimize and Maximize were changed in Ubuntu 16.04:

old: Minimieren / Maximieren
new: Verkleinern / Vergrößern

In my opinion, this is wrong (vergrößern = expand, not maximize). However, the change is especially bad because it makes minimize and maximize via keyboard shortcuts more difficult: Before, I was able to open the menu with Alt + Space, followed by "m" for minimize and "x" for maximize. Now, the hotkey for "Verkleinern" was changed to "k", and for "Vergrössern" there are now multiple keystrokes necessary because the hotkey "g" is used twice in the same menu.

My suggestion is to change the translation back to "_Minimieren" and "Ma_ximieren".

Can not find ma_ximize, mi_nimize, _Minimieren, Ma_ximieren, Ver_kleinern, Ver_größern in Compiz.

Hmm, does Unity have different labels? I'm using a standard Ubuntu 16.04.

Also set to Confirmed as it's a bug, but we just don't know how to fix it.

What is the next step now that the issue is confirmed? Shouldn't be too difficult to fix.
Who can fix this, or how can I help?

Changed in ubuntu-translations:
assignee: nobody → Ubuntu German Translators (ubuntu-l10n-de)
importance: Undecided → Medium

Well we must find the strings. If you know in which package they are, that would be perfect.

Meanwhile someone has fixed the problem that the "g" hotkey was used twice.

However, the original problem does still exist: Labels for Minimize / Maximize were changed without anyone asking for it. Can someone please revert it or explain why it was changed?
