I've tried the following Operating Systems in the last week, and here's the results:
Ubuntu 13.10 Server daily build - Installs the OS but does not boot with the same symptoms mentioned above.
OpenSuSE 12.3 - Similar to Ubuntu 13.10, the installation will properly recognize the 4k/4k drive but upon reboot, we cannot boot the OS. It does, however, display a different error. In the case of OpenSUSE, I see the following:
error:disk ',gpt4' not found
Entering rescue mode....
grub rescue>
If I run an ls in grub-rescue I see:
(hd0) (hd1) (hd1,gpt5) (hd1,gpt4) (hd1,gpt3) (hd1,gpt2) (hd1,gpt1) (cd0)
RHEL6.4 Installed AND booted the OS. RHEL6, I'm told, still uses a patched legacy grub, but, it does manage to boot up the OS.
I could not even begin to install Fedora 18 and 19. If I attempt to kick off an installation of these OSes, I am presented with a "Secure Boot not enabled" on the console and at that point it just sits there and doesn't move forward with the installation.
