@jani, very interesting, thanks for the finding! Very weird though; they should not affect each other - the HDA card, that cannot be used since we don't have a HDMI port, should be a completely different sound card/system.
Luke's fix is probably a good thing to do, however, for PulseAudio based applications it does not matter. I could make a quirk to make PulseAudio ignore it if it shows up.
