Hey Michael. This patch is not solving your issue and this ticket is not related to your problem.
This will solve an internal testing problem where we skip building this module for our kernel derivatives that don't have CONFIG_CONFIG_CFG80211 enabled, like linux-kvm in this case.

Please check out https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rtl8821ce/+bug/2002641, there this module was disabled for kernel 5.15+ because upstream has superseded it.
