Bug Description
In Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS, if
settings -> appearance -> Desktop Icons -> Show Personal Folder = off,
this doesn't work. The subfolders of /home/user are still showing on the desktop.
In dconf-editor, /org/gnome/
The following also has no effect:
gsettings set org.gnome.
This worked:
gnome-extensions disable <email address hidden>
But then, if I create a ~/Desktop folder and put files in it, they don't appear on the desktop, even if I have edited
~/.config/
I don't think all these things are working together, or aware of each other:
ubuntu settings
gnome
XDG
<email address hidden>
In particular, maybe <email address hidden> broke this, although I can't be sure, but it seems to not handle well an empty /home/user/Desktop folder or a /home/user folder without a Desktop folder, where the user does not want any (home folder) icons to show on the Desktop. I hope they will please fix this.
