Bug Description
The new Ubuntu Mono font appears smaller than the Ubuntu Regular font when viewed at the same point size. See attached image for example.

Hello ismise, I've marked this as a dup of bug #727733 ("Technical: Mono: discern level of scaling to fit in terminal cell") to try and keep the discussion in one place. I'm happy to undup it and try to recap the situation if you'd like me to. (In a nutshell, it's intentional and followed a large amount of discussion).
