Bug Description

Problem occurs with: Ubuntu font 0.910 pre-release
Does not occur with: Ubuntu font 0.80

0.910 has much greater line spacing than 0.80, which causes major problems with the UI. For example, text fields, menu items, and notification bubbles are all about 50% taller than usual.

This is caused an change in metadata (maximum ascent and descent):

  1121 -> 1825 (variable width faces)
  1000 -> 1094 (Ubuntu Mono)
