I'm experiencing the same issue with Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) Beta 1 and a Belkin F5D8013 PCMCIA 802.11n card. This also has the RT2860. When I insert it the LEDs are off and "pccardctl status" shows "no card". When I reinsert it the LEDs come on and pccardctl reports "3.3V 32-bit PC Card". It then is detected by NetworkManager and I can connect.
