Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

In order to triage the issue, I need further informations.
Could you please post the application log with the details of this issue?

The log file could contain relevant informations on what was going when the app failed to open the document.
I had a first check and actually it seems that the downaloaded file does not even exist. I need then to know if the path of the file is legal or does contain some non-standard character.

*** Steps to (automatically) upload the log ***
1) Install Logviewer from Ubuntu Store on your device (https://uappexplorer.com/app/com.ubuntu.developer.vtuson.logviewer)
2) Open Document Viewer and do all the required steps in order to reproduce the bug.
3) Open Logviewer
4) View the log related to "com.ubuntu.docviewer_*"
5) In the header, tap the "PasteBin" action (it's in the overflow panel). That will automatically upload your log on paste.ubuntu.com.
6) Paste the link to the uploaded log in this bug report.

A further note: the log file contains the file name of the opened documents. If the file names contains sensible informations, they will be pushed on the net.

Alternatively, you can find the Document Viewer log in ~/.cache/upstart/application-click-com.ubuntu.docviewer_docviewer_<app_version>.log
