After cloning to a USB drive, it can boot the problematic Lenovo V130 in UEFI mode with secure boot :-)
I checked also with a Dell Precision M4800, and this computer boots nicely both in BIOS mode and UEFI mode. In the near future I will test also in other computers, that are available, and I will blow the whistle if necessary.
I can report *success* from testing with the current daily Ubuntu Groovy iso file
