The problem is that ubotu makes the "spammy" annoucement now, but to the original package, so it is 100% spam. If adjusted as suggested, the printed output at least appears useful.
More specifically, watching #ubuntu-bugs, and being told that bug #112 was reported in rosetta is clearly useless, whereas being told that bug #112 was also reported in iitalian is possibly useful. An laternate solution is to not make a channel annoucement when the bug is reported in an additional package, which would also resolve this bug, in my opinion.
