It was impossible to minimize VirtualBox. Since VirtualBox 3.0.2 it's possible to minimize a virtual machine, because they added a bar with a minimize button (like the one used in Microsofts Remote Desktop Client). As this bug report is about minimizing a full screen application, VirtualBox can be considered as fixed.

Though it'd be nice if short cuts like Ctrl + Alt + Arrow Keys worked. Now, if you're working in a virtual machine (on workspace 2) and want to use an Ubuntu (on workspace 1) and then switch back to your virtual machine, you have to do the following:
- Minimize virtual machine by clicking the button on the yellow bar in your virtual machine;
- Switch to workspace 1;
- Use the application;
- Switch back to workspace 1;
- Click the button of the virtual machine in your window list to get the virtual machine back to full screen.

It'd be better if Ctrl + Alt + Arrow Keys should just work, so you could do:
- Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow to get to workspace 1 without minimizing the virtual machine;
- Use the application on workspace 1;
- Ctrl + Alt + Right Arrow to get back to workspace 2 which still has the virtual machine open in full screen.

On Mac OS this works (although it's key combination is Ctrl + Arrow Keys, instead of Ctrl + Alt + Arrow Keys).

If this would work in full screen application, it'd fix this bug for all applications.

Nowadays full screen mode in tsclient is completely useless, as there's no way to get out of this full screen mode. Only solution is logging of from the Windows machine, use the application on Ubuntu and then logging back on to the Windows machine. If Ubuntu short cuts would work in full screen, you could just switch to another workspace with Ctrl + Alt + Arrow Keys or minimize a full screen application with Alt + F9. Then it'd be fixed for all applications and also for all games.
