Now get:

# /etc/init.d/tpfand start
 * Starting ThinkPad fan control daemon tpfand Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/sbin/tpfand", line 21, in <module>
    import tpfand.control
ImportError: No module named tpfand.control
