Hm.. that's a weird bug, it's like it created an empty .time file. can you remove the files in /var/lib/timekpr/ and try again?

sudo /etc/init.d/timekpr stop
sudo rm -r /var/lib/timekpr/*
sudo /etc/init.d/timekpr start
gksu timekpr-gui
