Exact match was the change that happened to me at some point in the past year. I have a few short nicknames like 'jim'. In previous version, typing quickly jim[tab] instantly prefilled from the nickname. In the newer versions, if there are any addresses in the book starting with jim, the behavior is to put a red 'jim' in the to box, and not allow sending at all. I fail to see the point of the nickname if it is not used, and one should not have to wait .5s for the autocomplete to prefill to hit tab.
