The workaround in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/545778/comments/45 relies on official package and so far so good works nicely and also plays nice with provider for google agenda.

What will happen on next official TB+Lightning release ?
Since Lighting is no longer seen as a separate extension and therefore no longer available on ATN, I can't see a way for « auto-updating » there.
