In fact, and after some reflection, I prefer like you to have the reply button changing its behavior when a mailing-list is detected, but the only problem is that it removes the possibility to answer only to the sender.
So it would be fine to have an additional "private reply" button activated when the reply button doesn't reply to the "from:" address.
