That would run afoul of Exim-users' (dumb, IMO) policy of CCing people on replies.
All I want to know is, as the previous commenter has said, 137 (counting this one) comments going back 8 years and we're still going over the same discussion over and over. How to implement it. Look, TBird is one of the only mail clients on the unix side of life which doesn't implement it. This has been bicycled to death, people. Quite frankly I don't care HOW it is done, I care that it gets done before another 8 years goes by!
A separate button? Fine!
A drop down? Fine!
Available only with a keypress? Fine!
JUST DO IT ALREADY!
If the TBird devs need to noodle it out look at how KMail, Evolution, mutt, pine, elmo and who knows what other clients do it, figure out the most popular method and implement that! It is readily apparent that whatever choice is made will not appease everyone who is watching and has commented on this bug. What is apparent is that this has to be one of the biggest warts in TBird's entire history and it is high time it is finished and marked closed.
