so this is copy-paste after clearing the log, then doing right-click and Get Messages on a http auth protected feed folder. here i click Cancel and stop the operation.

there is no checkbox available in the authentication dialog for remembering the password, so to me it doesn't even make sense to continue with anything else until that checkbox is back with us.

message ordering is Last to First, so it'd be logical to read.
