The user deselected state must be respected, and no unwanted auto selection should happen on context menu delete, or marking as junk/junk column toggle, or message header button delete. No pref is necessary; if the message selection is cleared, prior selection is forgotten (overriding folder change remember pref) and no new selection is made.
