No, not at all.
The bug is that Thunderbird sort the threads on the first e-mail in the thread, not the last. Which date this is, is an other question. When sorting on the first e-mail threads tend to dissapear. The "Mutt" model is much better. The threads with new e-mails will always stay in sight.
Thunderbirds thread model, as it works today, is TOTALYY usless. You always lose new an important mails because these belong to a thread started several weeks ago.
