Comment 24 for bug 10883

I would like this feature too. I use multiple accounts using global local
folders (one inbox) in thunderbird and use plain text as a default.

Sometimes I need to compose in html and there is no way to it.
The original button idea is good. I would be ok with a drop-down option to the
Write toolbar button or an additional entry to File->New menu item, so that it
is Message & HTML Message.

I can do this, though I have no code for thunderbird yet.
