Yes, you've definitely found a bug there. The good news is that you haven't lost any of your address books or contacts. The other good news is that I have a workaround until I can get a patch ready.
Please perform the following steps:
1) Open Thunderbird's Preferences dialog (Edit > Preferences)
2) Click the "Advanced" button at the top, and switch to the "General" tab
3) Click on "Config editor"
4) Click past the warning
5) In the filter, type in "ldap_2.servers.eds"
6) Find the value called "ldap_2.servers.eds.position". It'll be set at 0. Set it to 1.
7) Close and restart Thunderbird, and open your address book - they should be restored.
I'll write a patch to make sure that value gets written on boot later today.
I failed to mention that deleting and creating EDS address books is currently unsupported with my add-on. Thanks for reminding me! I'll update the add-on project page.
