My common use-case is this:

In Terminal, select a filename listed by ls -l

To backup the file I type 'cp ' then paste the filename twice in quick succession (with a space in between), then type an extension, such as '0' or '.bkp'.

The issue is that the output of the second (or subsequent) paste is often duplicated if in quick succession.

Example output for a file named 'run:

stefan@myhost $ run run runrun runrun run runrun runrun run runrun runrun run

This only seems to occur when the original text selection was done within Terminal.

When selecting text from, eg a urxvt terminal & pasting into Terminal, I cannot reproduce the issue.
