#8 Be careful that you are not running another instance of Terminator, i.e. launch it from gnome-terminal. If you are trying to use Terminator to launch a debug Terminator you will also need to add the -u flag. Otherwise you are simply requesting another window from the already running, (presumably) non-debug Terminator. (This is the DBus functionality, and if it is causing you problems you can disable the DBus interface in your preferences.)
This might actually resolve *all* your issues with not seeing debug output, and get you well on your way to tackling the problems with the plugin.
