Bug Description

I have a two-column, four-row pane terminator window that stops refreshing automatically.

I'm running 'sudo iotop' in a remote session in each window. I don't think this issue has occurred with any other command.
Symptoms are:
1. All panes stop refreshing contents
2. Mouse click causes one update of content to occur in each pane. Auto-refresh still not working.
3. You can not get a second consecutive update by clicking in the same pane. You have to click in another pane to get another single refresh of all the panes. (Like a Whack-a-Mole type game)
4. Killing a 'sudo iotop' command, brings back the shell prompt, but this is not visible until a mouse click in a different pane. Shell updates in similar way - must click. In other words, once broken, behavior is persistent regardless of what is happening in the terminal.

Terminator is version 0.97. Running KDE. Running Ubuntu 14.04.3. The iotop remote sessions are running under Ubuntu 12.04.5

I downloaded the latest and will try to reproduce it in version 0.98

Thanks

I've had multiple issues with panes not updating, now. I have two-column, 4 row with ifperf (not ioperf), where updates have stopped completely. Does not show the whack-a-mole behavior about.

On 1 where you say that all panes stop refreshing. After how long?

As an experiment, with the latest trunk I created a 2x2 grid, logged into the localhost over ssh (to be "remote") and kicked of a "sudo iotop" command in them all. All four are updating, and I do not see the symptoms you are describing.

Additional questions:
Is the "remote session" a local Terminator connecting over ssh, or a remote Terminator forwarded to your local machine over ssh X forwarding, or something else?
Have you tried this with the GTK3 Terminator?
Have you tried this with GNOME Terminal?
What is the OS of the remote system you are connecting to?
What versions of OS and iotop on the remote system?
What is your confidence in the networks stability?

I see a really good chance of vte3 fixing this.
