Hi Egmont. Yes, the gtk*2* codebase is exposed to this issue. This "bug" is for tracking the gtk*3* port. It would be perverse (in my mind at least) to flag *this* as a security issue. Flagging a bug against gtk2 as a security issue regarding plaintext in the tmp dir I could understand. There was another person (also with zero contributions/profile/karma in Launchpad) who just up and unlinked a load of yet-to-be-released fixes from the trunk branch recently. I mailed them to ask why and have had no response. It's made me a little sensitive to unknown people making what looks like pointless and rather random changes without at least a note as to why.
