I know RPM packaging really well (it's a lot of my $dayjob) and I'm a fedora package maintainer, though I'm not the package maintainer for terminator. I have a terminator.spec file that I used to build packages for fedora and CentOS here

They should be fairly easily picked up by the official package maintainers. I'll attach my spec here if you want to check it in
