Forking might be a good long term solution - if Terminator survives until then, which I seriously doubt if there's no short term solution.

Distributions that aren't willing to switch to a bzr branch are probably even less willing to switch to an unofficial fork. By the time that fork becomes widely known and recognized, it'll probably be too late for the project, at least this is what I'm afraid of.

However, if someone's giving a try, I'm sending best wishes and best of luck!

(Just for the record: I'm sorry but I cannot make any commitments, let alone maintenance of the project or a fork thereof. I'm a vte developer (kinda) and I don't even use terminator myself, I just care about vte3's fixes getting to everyone.)
