This interface is not stable and using it in a plugin or any other test suite is not supported. These types of breakages are expected if you do that. That patch is part of ongoing cleanup to make the scenario tests actually maintainable. For future reference see: https://docs.openstack.org/developer/tempest/plugin.html#stable-tempest-apis-plugins-may-use for interfaces which are stable and safe to use outside of the tempest repo.
