This can be viewed as a bug in two parts:
1) are the settings shown when we return to the network page?
2) are the settings actually applied to the system?

For me, the settings are NOT shown when I return to the network page, just as the screenshots show.
The settings are applied to the target system.

If you switch to a terminal with VT switching or the Help -> "Enter shell" menu entry, are the network settings actually set for you?
