Comment 2 for bug 722751

I have reverted the proposed fix:

It doesn't fix the bug: I was talking about a completely different feature: planet *trails*, not planet orbits.
It introduces a new bug: It ignores user settings on orbits, showing orbit lines for visible bodies all the time. This will also cause problems with the Solar System Observer view...

As the question in the bug report suggests, the behaviour of trails (or orbit lines) is a design decision and should be discussed before being changed.
