You can prepare your favorite settings, store config.ini, exit Stellarium, and copy config.ini under a new name myStarMapConfig.ini. Then start with stellarium --config-file myStarMapConfig.ini, or, write a couple of one-line-scripts for that if you have many configurations, like stell_starmap.sh, stell_plan.sh, stell_india.sh, stell_driveMyScope.sh or whatever.
