Need separate translation for "Sirius" in skycultures

Sirius has a special name in Scottish Gaelic (Reul an Iuchair). It would be great if we could translate this separately from the Egyptian sky culture.

Same problem with:

- Arcturus
- Capella
- Deneb
- Altair

I am still researching the star names, so I don't know yet if there are enough differences to warrant a separate Sky Culture.

If you just want to show a handful of bright stars with their Scottish Gaelic names (which should be in common active use), but else have Western Skyculture (constellations, all the other names, etc), you could translate the star name as in "Reul an Iuchair (Sirius)" in your Scottish Gaelic skyculture language. (Star names are all translatable and should be available in Rosetta.) I still heavily recommend adding the common astronomical name in brackets though.

Then just use Western Skyculture with Scottish Gaelic Skyculture Language.

If you have a completely distinct skyculture (constellations, mythology), it's time for a new Skyculture, yes.

Yes I did translate like that way and that works very fine. We do have special names for those stars. So i translate them like

লুব্ধক (সিরিয়াস) - Lubdhak (Sirius)
স্বাতী (আর্কটুরাস) - Swati (Arcturus)
......
......

i.e. Local name (Original Name)

We are thinking about some changes in Skyculture coding. But between alphabets, transliteration (into various systems and alphabets depending on target language!), translation, meaning, and adding common astronomical names, there are many choices. A final solution is not yet on the horizon.

Let's just stick to the localized name (Latin/Greek name) scheme then - the constellations are the same as in Western, it's just the names that are a bit different.
