Bug Description

Hardware: Apple MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, mid-2014)
Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel Iris 1536 MB
Operating system: OS X El Capitan (Version 10.11.3)
Stellarium version: 0.14.2

I've tried copying the content of the Log tab from the Help window (pre-crash), but it's not copyable, so I've attached a screen shot.

Using the above hardware/software, Stellarium 0.14.2 crashes when zooming in to Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Using the mouse to scroll into Saturn, I can reach about FOV 6.3˚ before crashing, I presume this is the point at which Saturn will start to render. With Uranus I can reach about FOV 2.2˚ before crashing.

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for the email.

I read the bug report “Saturn, Uranus & Neptune disappear when zooming in” before posting. The user posting that report is using a different system to me and is losing images of the planets. When I zoom in, the software crashes completely before they render. I’m sure they are both linked and caused by a rendering issue, but I thought it was worth mentioning problems with using the latest Stellarium with a MacBook Pro.

Best wishes,

Melanie

Is this what you need? I also found the log file.

Are you can build Stellarium from source code?

Hint: I can't reproduce the issue, but possible comments the lines 1865-1872 in Planet.cpp will avoid crash.
