No objects visible after updating from 0.12.4 to 0.13.1 (Linux64)

Bug Description
I updated from Stellarium 0.12.4 to 0.13.1 on Xubuntu 14.04 (64bit), now no objects (stars, planets etc.) are being displayed anymore (see attached screenshot); even with a fresh profile. I can still (blindly) click on objects and get the corresponding information displayed though.
Since I skipped Stellarium 0.13.0 I don't know if the problem is new to 0.13.1 or existed already in 0.13.0. The binaries which I installed are from https:/

It may be graphics related, so here is more about my graphics device:

I also have not just pressed the "S" key by accident. By pressing "S" I can still toggle whether the names of the brighter stars get displayed, but in neither state I get to see the stars (or planets or anything other except some DSOs).
